Session on general hygiene

  2024-09-30
At the beginning of the Human Network’s work within the Citizenship Project and in cooperation with the Valley Organization, its first activity was to hold an awareness seminar on public protection from the month in the Bazian district
Good hygiene is crucial to preventing the spread of infectious diseases and helping children live long and healthy lives. It also prevents school absences and leads to better educational outcomes. For families, good hygiene means avoiding illness and reducing health care spending. In some contexts, good hygiene can ensure a family’s good social status and help individuals maintain self-confidence.
he most important areas of public hygiene are:
Handwashing
The simplest way to protect against a range of diseases.

Hand hygiene is the cornerstone of safe and effective health care, a highly cost-effective public health measure, and critical for protecting against a range of diseases such as pneumonia and diarrhoea.

Global and national estimates show large disparities in access to handwashing facilities, even within countries. Research has shown that where handwashing facilities are available, people, particularly men, do not use them consistently. Greater political support and behavioural change interventions are needed to achieve significant improvements in policies, strategies and activities that drive sustainable change
We help ensure everyone has access to health services, by providing emergency hygiene kits and supporting the creation of handwashing facilities.
We work with governments to strengthen policies, institutional arrangements, planning, financing, monitoring, and capacity development — all of which are the building blocks for sustainable improvement in sanitation.
The network also calls for increased funding for hygiene activities, including fostering political leadership on hygiene at all levels, and mobilizing prominent advocates and political leaders as hygiene champions.

We build on local knowledge and promote positive traditional practices, and continue to develop new strategies and tools to improve key hygiene behaviours, while empowering communities to take control of their health and well-being.
