As part of efforts to improve the healthcare system and enhance community participation in discussing health issues, the launch of Citizens' Health Councils in Sulaymaniyah Governorate has been announced. These councils aim to represent various segments of society, including women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, to convey their concerns and demands regarding public health to the relevant authorities.
Mechanism and Coordination:
Periodic meetings for these councils will be organized by the Humanitarian Network, which will provide a suitable environment for effective dialogue between citizens and healthcare officials. Through these meetings, challenges faced by residents in the healthcare sector will be highlighted, along with the presentation of suggestions and solutions that contribute to the development of healthcare services.
Patient Support and Formation of Future Groups:
Furthermore, these councils will receive the necessary support to develop more sustainable mechanisms, including the formation of patient support groups. This step aims to enhance cooperation among patients, facilitate the exchange of information and experiences, and provide psychological and social support that contributes to improving the quality of healthcare.
This project is part of efforts to promote participatory democracy in the healthcare sector and ensure equitable and efficient access to services for all groups.
